Training, Qualifications and Experience
In addition to twelve part-time counsellors, we have a family therapist in the team.
The counsellors are fully qualified and experienced professionals who are members of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). As such, they adhere to the codes of ethics and practice set out by the BACP and ACC (the Association of Christian Counsellors), of which Sevenoaks Counselling is a member.
Julie is a BACP Accredited Counsellor who holds the Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling and Diploma in Supervision.
She has significant experience of working therapeutically with adults, couples and young people in primary health care and educational settings.
In addition, Julie has taught introductory and advanced level counselling courses to certificate level and has also worked as a counselling skills tutor at Diploma level.
As part of her professional practice, Julie mentors and supervises student counsellors and works as a supervisor within the voluntary sector.
Julie has a special interest in working with relationship and loss related issues.
Jennifer is a BACP Accredited Counsellor who holds a Diploma in Psychodynamic Therapeutic Counselling. She also holds a Certificate in Couple Counselling and is qualified as a Counselling Supervisor.
She works with adults, couples and older children as well as supervising student counsellors and groups who support clients experiencing domestic abuse.
She has a special interest in mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression, family constellation and the inner child.

Jeanette counsels adults and couples and has a special interest in working with children and young couples
Jeanette’s special interest is in family counselling
Enhanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling.
Laura has a particular interest in anxiety, attachments, identity crisis and transitions.
Laura works with couples, adults, and older children.

As well as working with adults Jean heads up the children and young peoples’ work at Sevenoaks Counselling. She works with children and adults. Further, she supervises counselling students.

Alan works with individuals, couples and adults with dementia.
He supervises students, and was formerly a counsellor with PPC world wide which is an employee assistance programme.
He is a Pastoral counsellor in a parish setting, and has authored two books on conselling related issues.
